The challenge
High Eskom tariffs and the urgent need to lower environmental impact created a critical energy challenge for Garden Route Game Lodge in Albertinia, where uncompromised guest comfort and operational efficiency are paramount.
The SSS solution
Specialized Solar Systems engineered and installed a 135 kVA grid-tied solar energy solution paired with a 163.8 kWp ground-mounted solar PV array. The system delivers 135 kVA of clean electricity directly into daily lodge operations.
Results and benefits
The solar installation powers guest services, lighting, and lodge amenities with renewable energy. The system generates approximately 236.3 MWh of clean power per year and cuts carbon emissions by roughly 170 tons of CO2 annually, achieving an estimated payback period typically under 4 years.
