Grocery Express gets into the Green Scene!
The local George retail supermarket Grocery Express reduced its carbon footprint with a powerful AC Coupled grid-tied solar system designed and installed by Specialized Solar Systems commercial team.
The AC-coupled grid-tied solar system features two solar arrays. One 85.8kWp solar array (PV) generates power for 3 x 27kVA (81kVA) Fronius grid-tied inverters which are used to supplement the grid power and save on electricity costs.
The other 9.8 kWp array, feeds PV-generated power to 6 x 10kVA Victron Quattro (60kVA) inverters/chargers, used for both charging the 64kWh storage and powering essential energy distribution during load-shedding periods.
The critical solar hardware componentry and intricate electrical wiring management housing (AC sub-distribution boxes) are all neatly tucked away in small metal cubical alongside the main building. An air-conditioning unit was installed to keep the hardware temperatures satisfactory, and within manufacturing specifications automatically.
