Fred Marnewil
Civil Team Supervisor
Fred joined Specialized Solar Systems in 2022, combining practical installation work with the supervision of the civil team. He translates project requirements into clear responsibilities, coordinates his crew and helps keep each site organised, safe and professional. He also holds certificates in first aid, management and supervision.
Fred leads through mutual respect and teamwork. He makes a point of introducing his team and helping clients feel comfortable with the people working on their property. His first installation in Albertinia remains a proud career milestone. Outside of work, Fred enjoys watching movies, visiting neighbours and a good burger and chips.
Madoda Malulwane
Electrician and Installation Supervisor
Madoda has worked in the solar industry since 2016 and joined Specialized Solar Systems in 2022. As Installation Supervisor, he manages project readiness from stock preparation to team coordination, ensuring that everything is in place before work begins. He holds a diploma in electrical engineering, a trade test certificate and Victron certification.
Safety, neat workmanship and client satisfaction guide Madoda’s approach. Known for checking every detail carefully, he helps ensure that each installation is completed correctly and to a high standard. For Madoda, switching on a completed system is especially rewarding because it marks the moment clean energy begins working for the client. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and visiting the beach.
Robert Stevens
Team Supervisor
Robert has worked in the renewable energy sector since 2019 and joined Specialized Solar Systems in 2022. He brings practical experience, adaptability and confident on site leadership to every project. As Team Supervisor, he oversees installation quality across system wiring, solar panel installation and overall site execution, while supporting his team to perform at their best.
Clear communication, respectful conduct and a clean, well managed working environment are central to Robert’s approach. He is proud of every project he supervises, with the Surgical Eye Clinic, Inverroche and Wilderness SPAR among his most memorable installations. Outside of work, Robert enjoys spending time with his family, fishing and watching rugby.
Kurtwhan Marnewil
Supervisor and Repair Technician
Kurtwhan has worked in the solar industry since 2022 and joined Specialized Solar Systems in 2023. As Team Supervisor and Repair Technician, he combines on site leadership with repairs, fault finding and practical technical problem solving. He is currently working towards his Red Seal qualification and enjoys resolving challenges that make a meaningful difference for clients.
Kurtwhan leads by example, supports the development of those around him and believes good communication should begin before work starts. He also treats every client’s property with care and respect. Wesland Farm remains one of his most memorable projects. Outside of work, Kurtwhan enjoys church, travelling and gaming.
Enrico Da Silva
Electrician & Installation Supervisor
Enrico is an Electrician and Supervisor who joined the Specialized Solar Systems team in May 2026. He has been working with solar since 2019 and has completed his electrical trade, with experience in fieldwork and mechanical fitting.
He has also received training on systems including Sunsynk, Deye and Luxpower. With a strong technical background, Enrico focuses on ensuring installations are completed correctly, safely and to the required standards.
