Installation of demonstration solar unit at the UNISA Institute for Social and Health Services

Specialized Solar Systems (SSS) was asked to supply and install a demonstration unit at the Unisa Institute for Social and Health Services at their campus, south of Johannesburg. The initiative was initiated by PEER Africa, who in collaboration with the UNISA research team, headed up by Dr. David K Kimemia who is researching a comprehensive model for the supply of services and solutions to be deployed in Day Care centers.

In simple terms, they have 10kWhrs  per day via solar and wind input if the battery levels start to run low a 5kW Victron inverter will switch over to Eskom power before the batteries lifespan can be affected.

Namibian High Commission in Botswana 50kW 3-Phase Solar Powered System

The Namibian High Commission in Botswana recently acquired a Primary Solar secondary utility power energy system with battery back-up to supply their offices.

The Solar System designed and installed for the Namibian High Commission in Botswana was developed to supply primary 50Kw 3-Phase renewable power to adequately supply their offices’ power requirements. If their offices consume all the alternative energy generated power, the system will automatically switch over to grid utility mains power.
