Description
Welcome to the RF Optimiser, designed to maximize the energy throughput of your solar system by intelligently switching loads under favorable and pre-set conditions for optimise energy efficiency. It is designed to be used with a Victron Energy’s Cerbo GX and Cerbo-S GX
In many residential and commercial solar systems, solar energy production (PV) is often constrained by battery capacity and daytime energy consumption. For example: solar energy charges the battery, and once it’s fully charged, the excess solar energy often goes underutilized, supplying only the daytime loads. The wireless RF Optimiser allows you to optimize your energy consumption during the day by making the most of the excess PV energy and optimising energy efficiency. Read more by downloading our installation manual at this link.
The Wireless RF Optimiser has the following options available to maximize your excess energy:
Time-Based Switching Options
This module allows one to set up times to activate and deactivate the switch. Two time-based switching options are available.
State of Charge (SOC) Switching
This module allows one to activate and deactivate the switch based on the state of charge (SOC) of the battery. It is important to understand that these upper and lower set points act as ‘triggers’, and do not define a SOC window. If the real-time SOC is between these two set points, it does not necessarily mean that the state of the module will be active (“true”). The module needs to be activated by the real-time SOC being greater than or equal to the upper set point. Likewise, the module is only deactivated by the real-time SOC being lower than or equal to the lower set point.
Grid Monitor
When switching the “Grid Monitor” module to enable, this optimizing function will disconnect the system when the grid disconnects and reconnect it when the grid power is restored. Perfect for load shedding!
