MARKET ESTABLISHMENT AND RETAIL OUTLETS

AFRICAN-SKILLS

 

1. The Renewable Energy African market comprises of the  following divisions:

DC Micro-Grid  Technology - LSM 1- 4 Markets with:

    • Rural electrification
    • Off-grid urban electrification

These two markets function with a central utility using the implementation as a social/economic driver. Different models exist in the world where Specialized Solar Systems (SSS) is known to be a leader in this field. These models are at present being implemented for global access to these areas.

2. Off-Grid, Grid-Tie and Hybrid Energy Systems

The need for sustainable independent energy systems that are designed for individual customers ensures that the supply of energy is delivered at the most economical supply method possible.

Three methods of design that allows for off-grid and on-grid implementation:  

    • The Off-Grid system would be used for the supply of energy throughout the day and night. Thus creating an independent supply with full remote monitoring activities.
    • A Grid-Tie system ensures that supplemented energy supply during the day feeding the load from renewable source to the load or excess back to the national grid.
    • A Hybrid system combines both an Off-Grid and Hybrid systems. These systems are generally used for the domestic, small industry and agriculture markets.  Lodges and mines have also utilised these units. The average sizing is between 3 to 60 kilowatts.

       

3. Independent Energy Supply

    • These energy systems are implemented to supply energy into the national grid or designed to also supply large amounts of energy.  
    • National government will mandate this for additional input into the load and contribute to the amount of supply the system delivers.
    • These projects generally have very high capital expenditure with  longer returns on initial investment.
    • Additional specialist would be required to implement the various processes. These independent energy systems have been more successful when supplying specific allocated loads to individual users is the requirement.
    • Practical implementation includes smaller off-grid towns or larger independent users

 

4. Solar Water Pumping Solutions

With 193 different water pumping options available, solar  water pumping is a complete industry on its own merit.

Up to 1 000 000 litres of water can be pumped per day per pump.  

    • The agriculture market is the largest consumer of this technology.
    • With the correct pumping design and using the correct range of pumps the DC solar powered industry has developed in leaps and bounds over the past 12 months.
    • AC three phased powered pumps with the correct VSP can now be used to power them directly from solar power.
    • Intensive training on this subject needs to be completed in order to have a desired effect

       

5. Training Academy

Within the total establishment of the renewable energy market a training section servicing local markets should be established. This function will not only create confidence in the market place but will also lead to the identification of skilled personal for the effective development of our own infrastructure.

6. Retail Division

The DC micro-grid technology is manufactured at SSS factories together with the required components for this technology usage. This allows SSS to efficiently introduce their retail products to the African markets.  

With DC powered televisions and fridges been sought after products, many other solar components are also supplied through the vast SSS network.

At SSS we believe that our clients are more comfortable purchasing from a local supplier than using imported goods as our proven track record of exceptional back up service and support has always been a key focal point of the SSS product and service range.

 

7. Program Periods and Establishment

    • The program will last for a minimum period of 24 months.
    • The watchdog company will be the last exit authority.

      • DC micro-grid manufacturing plant
      • Appliance assembly plant
      • Training academy
      • Renewable energy utility
      • Supply chains import/export
      • Operations head office
      • Market strategies and planning
      • National product agencies
      • Long-term support structure for new technologies
      • Co-operation support from sister companies
      • Management formulation for profit and loss determination

8.  Establishment Protocols and Hub Formation

The three parties involved will be:

The client

    • This would be the selected party which has the vision to introduce a full representation of renewable energy into a selected country and take ownership of this representation for future development.

The Management Company (watchdog)

    • This responsibility will assist between the implementation companies (SSS) and the client. The 24 month establishment of the management operation and finance control with reporting procedures to the client.

The implementation company. Specialized solar systems

    • All IP is held by this company and this IP will be transferred to the client in different segments and procedures. Facilitation of the establishment ,training and manufacturing will be done by various specialists within the 24 month period.
